Born in Bordeaux in 1963, Vincent Poujardieu graduated from the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux. He devoted himself to a free-spirited and uncompromising style of design that combines nature with know-how and cutting-edge technology. This surprising process results in creations that challenge the very meaning of their functionsand that give off a powerful, minute and sensuous vibe.
His creations all stem from his challenging materials and shaping processes alike. His style is characterized by cantilever and the interplay between fullness and the void. His workshop focuses on research and development as well as project-building for furniture, objects, and single-edition pieces. He also partners with eminent French crafstmen and industrials. Vincent Poujardieu’s designs are exhibited internationally at fairs, shows and events and can be publicly or privately commissioned. They also appear in various publications.
In 2012, Vincent Poujardieu received the "Knowledge of the Arts" prize awarded by the Académie Nationale des Sciences, des Belles Lettres et des Arts in Bordeaux. In 2019, his name joined the FD100, the list of the 100 most eminent French designers.
