gt2p

gt2p, an accronym that stands for "Great Things To People," is a studio founded in 2009 by a group of designers who shared a common interest for research and experimental design, applying digital technologies to production processes in architecture and object design. Yet in 2009 in Chile, it was impossible to depend only on digital production technologies, for lack of technological resources. As manual intervention was unavoidable, gt2p started to collaborate with craftsmen, potters and cabinetmakers.

From there, "Great Things to People" carefully connected with their local environment. They got inspired by Chilean natural phenomena and they resorted to traditional materials and techniques. The studio explores an innovative concept of computer-supported artisanal manufacture, combining digital technologies and traditional craftsmanship. Deep rooted in their Chilean origins, the studio unfurls their designs internationally which helps pushing forward the potential of South America.
