Born in Bordeaux in 1963, Vincent Poujardieu graduated from the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux. His creations all stem from his challenging materials and shaping processes alike. His style is characterized by cantilever and the interplay between fullness and the void. His workshop focuses on research and development as well as project-building for furniture, objects, and single-edition pieces. He also partners with eminent French crafstmen and industrials.
In 2012, Vincent Poujardieu received the "Knowledge of the Arts" prize awarded by the Académie Nationale des Sciences, des Belles Lettres et des Arts in Bordeaux. and in 2019, his name joined the FD100, the list of the 100 most eminent French designers.
In 2020, the "Nida" table lamp also entered the French government's Mobilier National collections and in 2021, the French Embassy in the United States acquired the "Nida" floor lamp and the "Mini Nida". They are since on view at the Villa Albertine in New York.
In 2023, Bordeaux Town Hall chose a « Mini Nida » as a present to honor the State visit to France of the British royal couple, King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
